"Asterophora" is a striking scratchboard work by Annette Perone Leiber, blending precision and imagination in monochrome. Using a stylus to etch away at a black ink-coated board, Leiber reveals a luminous botanical form inspired by microscopic imagery. The result is a high-contrast rendering of what might be a cluster of spores, blossoms, or something imagined—reflecting the inner workings of the mind and biology alike. This realistic piece displays exquisite control of value and form, offering viewers a meditative glimpse into natural textures and hidden worlds.
